So. I have a netbook. I got it yesterday and it's an Acer Aspire One 150. It has a 120 GB Hard Drive and now boasts 1.5 GB of RAM. Yes, I cracked it open within hours of receiving it. This explains why the trackpad temporarily doesn't work. There's a screw loose as well, I can hear it. Otherwise it works fine. I'm typing on it right now. The keyboard takes getting used to, but my only other beef with it is XP. I must figure out how to get Leopard or get a Just Works Linux onto this machine. I've already found this machine to be vastly more portable than the Macbook. The software I have installed is a mix of open and closed source software. Also, tis a smudge machine.

On Death, etc.
This morning I woke up after having a dream about making a journey with other people on sleds that used dog teams and reindeer teams. I went out to tle living room and saw Erin eating breakfast. I had my usual thought about Erin not being in school and passed her on my way to say good morning to Mom, a ritual. Erin said, "Katie's dead." It didn't sink in. I went to say good morning to mom, who had just emailed the same message to Dad. It's a bit of a shock and I just had a bit of a cry. I would have more of one, but my eyes are still gummy. Katie had gone to the vet because she was acting weird. They diagnosed dehydration which caused kidney malfunctions. The vet says this may have been caused by an infection that we didn't know about. This sort of thing is apparently common in older cats. Katie was certainly that. She's been with us a long time, and she came a long way from the traumatized cat she was so many years ago. I'm having another cry after writing that, a rather big one. She was never really my cat, but I loved her anyway. She'll always have a place in my heard. I hope she has true peace, a warm vent, lots of sunlight, food and water, and a caring hand to brush you. She will always have love. Always. Rest In Peace, Katie. We will miss you.

Epirus
Has nothing to do with this post, but tis a nice place, I'm sure, and I do like to play as it in Knights of Honor. Classes are going well, I suppose. I have my first homework load. Im fairly confident in not ever having real homework in Art History, but Math seems fairly heavy, and I've developed a distaste for it in the first place... I have a short Essay in Writing 122, a definition essay. I've never written one before but I'm not too worried. I really should be keeping a journal in Theater, so I'll have to remember to study lines and write that up as well. I'm actually bonding with people, may be on the cusp of employment and am currently procrastinating like mad. On that subject, a few books could come out now, that would be nice.
